The Kalgoorlie Occasional Childcare centre is a not-for-profit community-based centre. Established in 1989, the centre has been providing quality and flexible care to families in the Goldfields region. 

Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment, helping children feel safe, secure and supported to learn, grow and make friends. 

For the past 30 years, we have been providing a play-based curriculum that allows children to learn and develop at their own rate. We also have a dedicated school readiness program that assists children to develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in a school environment. The children have a set booking, attending one day per week, where we follow similar routines to schools, helping them become familiar with the expectations of the school allowing them to focus on the learning.

At Kalgoorlie Occasional Child Care Centre, we deliver a solution that works. Our dedicated team of qualified and experienced educators provide a play-based educational program that helps children thrive at their own pace. 

Our educators are experienced in working with children of different ages and can cater to the individual routines, following their home routine as closely as possible.

We allow them to get to know your families well, helping you create a close network that can best support your child’s learning and development. Our unique casual bookings allow families to book the days that they need without paying for unnecessary care.

Your children develop friendships and learn social skills and emotional intelligence by being in a small group with the same children and educators each week. Through their learning journals, the children learn a variety of cognitive and motor skills such as an awareness of letters, numbers, colours, shapes, cutting and name recognition/writing.

Kalgoorlie Occasional Child Care Centre helps children build their holistic self by utilising a play-based learning environment tailored to their interests and developmental needs.

The children participate in a wide range of experiences adjusted to suit the different ages in the room each day. Activities, experiences, and resources are carefully selected with the children’s developmental needs as a guide.

With three (3) booking sessions available each day, families can book the care they need fitting around rosters and unique families’ circumstances.

As an occasional centre, we take our bookings for the multi-age room a week in advance on a first in first serve basis. Families can book as many sessions as they wish for the week. We have three booking session a day available:

Morning session - 08:30 am to 12:00 pm

Afternoon Session - 12:00 pm to 03:30 pm

Full-day session - 08.30 am to 03:30 pm

We allow cancellations up to 24 hours prior with no charge. If you miss out on a booking, you are placed on the waitlist, and if a place becomes available, you will be contacted again for a booking.
