If you’ve worked in mining around here, chances are you know Neil Pownall. Now the General Manager of NLC, Neil (on the left) boasts over 30 years in the mining sector, having honed his skills in operations and maintenance roles locally and abroad. He’s done it all—starting as a fitter and rising to become the GM of one of the southern hemisphere’s largest ground support divisions. Neil’s on-the-ground experience in underground and surface environments gives him an invaluable perspective on the industry’s demands, especially when it comes to timely repairs and rapid parts turnarounds. His knowledge is a huge asset for NLC’s clients, who can trust they’re in the hands of someone who truly “gets” mining.
On the other side, we have Director Phil Cole (on the right). With over 15 years in the industry, Phil is a qualified Mining Engineer and First-Class Mine Manager specialising in underground operations. His extensive background includes more than five years as an Underground Manager, working locally and overseas. Phil is known for his clear focus on operational safety, risk management, and efficiency. His forward-thinking approach to mining sees it as a positive, progressive industry, and he’s passionate about making it a great place to work.
